Il RIFUGIO

The intervention focuses on the restoration of a historic stone alpine cabin, severely compromised by structural deterioration, through selective dismantling and faithful reconstruction of the original architecture. Recoverable elements are consolidated, while new underground spaces are introduced to improve functionality and structural stability. Alongside the existing volume, the project adds a minimal contemporary extension, clearly distinguishable through its materials and architectural language, establishing a balanced dialogue between historical memory, contemporary living requirements, and respect for the alpine context.
